WHAT IS A GULET?

A gulet is a traditional
Turkish motor sailing yacht built for cruising off shore in the calm
warm waters of the Mediterranean. Over the years gulets have evolved
from traditional crafts for fishing and transportation into their
present profile with a broad beam and wide deck. These yachts are
ideally designed to centre life on deck with spacious decks and a large
aft area used for dining and relaxing.
Today's gulets are comfortably equipped with all of the amenities of
home and encourage an environment in which you are expected to do
nothing but lie back enjoy yourself.
The closeness of the small group of people on board promotes an
atmosphere of friendship and sharing; relations among passengers and
crew tend to be relaxed and casual.
Our gulets are 14 - 32 metre boats and have 3 - 10 cabins, with berths
for up to 20 people. (The crew sleep and use the facilities in their
separate quarters). All gulets have bar, lounge, music system, fishing
lines, sun beds and canoes. Cabins have electricity and wc/shower. In
Gulets are available with, or without air-conditioning. The crew of 3 -
4 serve you on board as captain, cook and seaman and are true experts in
extending to you the great Turkish tradition of hospitality.

ROUTES AND PLACES TO VISIT

Gulets are more
suitable for cruising by motor, and rarely set sail. Cruising time
is usually limited to 3 or 4 hours per day; except on from the
Fethiye Gulf to Ekincik Bay on the Marmaris route, and between
Gemiler Bay and Kalkan on the Kekova route.
Cruising on our itineraries is close to shore, and most stops are in
beautiful bays and coves; so the ride is almost always smooth. The
waves very rarely cause discomfort. There is no reported case of
shark attack in the history of the country, so you can sure that
your swim will be a safe one.
Overnight, boats anchor in scenic bays close to the shore and,
occasionally, harbour towns. During a cruise, you'll have plenty of
time to swim in the turquoise waters, to go shore by dinghy and tour
ruins or stretch your legs in spectacular nature sports, or, if
you're feeling energetic, plenty of water sports activities will
sharpen your appetite for dinner.
As with everything on a gulet cruise, itineraries are designed to be
fairly flexible. While the captain, who knows all the secrets of the
coastline, follows a general route, he is always happy where
possible to accommodate the special wish of the passengers. Due to
unforeseen circumstances, weather conditions or the safety of his
passengers/boat, itineraries may be changed by the captain.
