WESTERN ANATOLIA
Day 1 : Istanbul

Your representative
awaits to greet you as you land in Istanbul. After transferring to your
hotel , the remainder of the day is free. Tonight meet your tour
companions at dinner.
Day 2 : Istanbul

Visit the Hippodrome, architectural marvel Hagia Sophia, the Blue
Mosque, the Byzantine Cistern, and Topkapi Palace Museum, for centuries
the Sultans' palace. Overnight at the Hotel. (B,L)
Day 3 : Istanbul

Tour the Spice Market,
cruise the Bosphorus, visit the Mosque of Suleyman the Magnificent, and
the Grand Bazaar, the world's largest covered market. Overnight at the
Hotel. (B,L)
Day 4 : Istanbul –Kayseri –
Cappadocia

Transfer to Istanbul Airport for a morning flight to Kayseri and
sight-seeing in Cappadocia. Lunch at a historic Greek house before
visiting Keslik Monastery, Soganli. Overnight in Cappadocia. (B,L,D).
Day 5 : Cappadocia

Travel through
Goreme Valley to see fairy chimneys and early Byzantine churches like
the Karanlik Kilise (the Dark Church) with stops to discover traditional
local handicrafts like carpet-weaving and pottery making at Avanos.
Further stops include Pasabag, Uchisar, the Dervent Valley and Zelve. (B,L)
Day 6 : Cappadocia

Trip to Kaymakli and
Derinkuyu, amazing underground cities. From there, visit Nargolu crater
lake and the pristine beauty of Ihlara Valley. Overnight at the Hotel in
Cappadocia. (B,L,D)
Day 7 : Cappadocia – Kayseri –
Izmir – Kusadasi

Drive to Kayseri for
flight to Izmir and a short drive to Kusadasi. Overnight at the Hotel in
Kusadasi. (B,D)
Day 8 : Kusadasi – Ephesus –
Kusadasi

Full day sight-seeing in
Ephesus. Follow in the footsteps of St. John and visit the house where
the Virgin Mary spent the last years of her life. Lunch at traditiona
Turkish restaurant. After lunch drive to Selcuk and visit Museum.

Day 9 : Kusadasi – Pergamum –
Kusadasi

Visit Pergamum, whose extensive ruins make it one of the most famous
archaeological sites in the Mediterranean. Overnight at the Hotel in
Kusadasi. (B,L,D)
Day 10 : Kusadasi–Priene–Miletos–Didyma–Kusadasi

You will be picked up from your hotel after breakfast and depart for
Priene. This was once a harbour city but is now located 16 km inland
from the sea on the hills of the Mykale Mountain. It has many
examples of Hellenic art and architecture. Alexander The Great lived
in this city for a time. The theatre in Priene is one of the most
beautiful ones from The Hellenic World. The Athena Polias Temple was
reconstructed by Alexander The Great as a gift to the city. After
Priene, you will depart for Miletus. Visit the ancient city of
Miletus which once was one of the biggest cities in Anatolia. It was
located on the trade routes and it was for this reason that it
became very prosperous and had many colonies. Miletus is famous for
its genius philosphers and architects, such as Tales, Anaksimandros,
Anaksimenes, Hippodamos and Isidoros. Miletus is also famous for the
Faustina Baths. Lunch break after Miletus and then visit to Didyma.
This was not a city but a temple dedicated to Apollon. It was once
one of the biggest temples in the Hellenic World. It was connected
to Miletus with a holy road of 19km. Overnight at the Hotel in

Day 11
: Kusadasi –Izmir – Istanbul - DEPARTURE
Your
representative escorts you to the airport for the flight home. (B)
